- De Kronstadt à la Normandie
Overview-
French Text
Here in the Batailles & Temoignages Collection, is an album devoted to the career of a Romanian German born in Kronstadt in the Carpathian Mountains, who was in the Waffen-SS and became and officer, later to fight in Normandy.
Finally a book on one of these Volksdeutsche (primarily German minorities from Central Europe) who were enlisted in the Waffen-SS, proud of their origins and who were great soldiers in the German Army, like Arthur Phelps.
We follow this young German from Romania in his journey through the Verfügungstruppe then through several officer schools and his transfer to the newly created Hoohenstaufen, offering the reader a broader view of the formation of this division. The first battles in Galicia and then Normandy to the 112 coast where our officer will be seriously injured and we will see his military career ended.
