CEAM is for the Air Force what Research and Development is to a large corporation. This department leads all the experiments at a rate of 350 per year for all types of aircraft equipment: aircraft, weapons, software, ergonomic equipment, etc...

Established in 1933 in Reims, then transferred to Orleans due to German threat, the organization located to Mont-de-Marsan in 1945, where it is still based to this day. Integrated within air base 118, it employs nearly 1,000 people from front-line units and from a variety of backgrounds and specialties.

The author, himself a former test pilot, tells us the history of this organization in detail, with many supporting photographs, seventy years of experimentation, and the creation of the center that we see today.

“The focus of this book is wide and varied, with images of famous French aircraft through the ages, weaponry and even CEAM's prowess at NATO Tiger Meet special schemes. A wonderful book for French Air Force fans.”
