May 1745. After a brief start to the campaign, the French Army under the Maréchal de Saxe laid siege to Tournai in Flanders.
The Anglo-Dutch army came to the aid of the besieged town and fought on unfavorable terrain with, as a result, one of the greatest victories for the French Army.
