Overview
-

In Focus 1: Jagdpanzer 38 is the first of a new series from Panzerwrecks. As the titles implies, the subject is the German Jagdpanzer 38 tank hunter, often incorrectly referred to as the Hetzer. The subject has been written about before and many photos published, but this book, the first of a series, combines 20 years original research and gathering of materials to take a fresh look at this vehicle. The cornerstone of every Panzerwrecks publication are the large format photos, and this book continues this with many previously unseen images. These images are supplemented by specially commissioned high quality artwork from Felipe Rodna. The author and artist have worked together closely and incorporated the latest findings to offer the reader the most authentic color plates of the Jagdpanzer 38 yet published. This book will become a ‘must have' for the serious modeler and military vehicle enthusiast.

REVIEWS
-

Lee Archer continues to present the history enthusiasts and modelers alike, with high quality publications focusing on armor of the Second World War. This first book in the series, In Focus 1 - Jagdpanzer 38, is an incredible look at one of Germany's late-war production tanks. This book appears to be the most comprehensive collection of photographs on this subject and is filled with over a hundred period black and white photographs showing this Jagdpanzer in both operational and wrecked settings. The photographs have been beautifully reproduced for this publication and the provided color drawings give the reader a little perspective on what these vehicles might have looked like in color at the time.., if you're a fan of any of the Panzerwrecks Series of books, a modeler of armor related subjects or simply an enthusiast of the history surrounding the Second World War, In Focus 1 - Jagdpanzer 38 is a definite must have for your personal library.

- Modelers Social Club Review Connect , July 2016

"It is a collection of good quality and/or interesting photographs of the Hetzer. The diorama ideas are countless and there are many close up photos showing the wear and tear and weathering of the vehicles. It's the equivalent of being up close and personal. The colour artwork adds more to this by having a professional interpretation of some black and white images to reproduce the colours, splashes, wear and tear on the vehicles. The captions are informative and give good information. There are a few vehicles that are covered with multiple photographs so you get a good all round view."
