Fighters made in a Bavarian GmbH Flugzeugwerke factory were the third most common type of fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Army Air Service (Luftstreitkräfte). Although having elegant lines, they turned out to be inferior not only to Albatros D.V and D.Va or Fokker D.VII but also to most allied fighters sent into action in 1917. They were just a workhorse of the Luftstreitkräfte fulfilling the permanent shortage of combat-ready fighters. They were definitely a deadly weapon in the hands of experienced German and Bavarian Jastas pilots.

"…number of interesting photos are found in this book, as well as technical drawings from the Pfalz factory and cut-away and detail drawings from wartime issues of Britain's Flight magazine. It also features 12 color profiles by Ronny Bar. As the book is published in Poland it, unders tandably, offers text on "Poles in Pfalz aircraft.”Pfalz - Fighter Aircraft from Rhineland the Wine Country by Tomasz J. Kowalski is recommended.
