Artist Ronny Bar, a member of director Sir Peter Jackson’s New Zealand-based Wingnut Wings team, presents the first collection of his astonishingly detailed First World War aircraft profiles – British Two-Seaters of the Great War. Two-seater aircraft were the workhorses of the Royal Flying Corps and from 1918 the Royal Air Force, operated in a wide variety of roles such as training, artillery spotting, reconnaissance, communications, coastal patrol and even bombing. Some, such as the B.E.2c and R.E.8, became notorious while others such as the Bristol F.2B fighter proved popular and reliable. What they lacked in glamour and aesthetic appeal, these aircraft made up for with their purposeful looks, practical design and do-it-all usefulness over the battlefield.

This book features 260 meticulously researched profiles of the war’s most important and iconic British two-seaters: the Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2a to B.E.2g, F.E.2b, F.E.2d and R.E.8; Avro 504, Vickers F.B.5, Sopwith 1½ Strutter, Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8, Bristol F.2B and Airco DH.4, DH.9 and DH.9A.

"...reading this large-format volume of work is a cross between visiting a fine art exhibition, where each piece can be studied and enjoyed, and lurking about an aerodrome filled with grim, fully-armed -- yet so pristine -- military aircraft."

- Over the Front

"...treats the reader to a splendid array of full page, full color aircraft profiles for scores of airplanes that are usually neglected in World War I research."

- Indy Squadron Dispatch

"Highly recommended."

- AMPS Indianapolis

"The markings and color schemes prove to be a cornucopia for modelers. Most of the aircraft covered show schemes from service in France, but planes on other fronts are portrayed as well."

- Historical Miniatures Gaming Society

"The book is real eye candy for the WWI enthusiast and an interesting look back. It is a book that no WWI fan should be without."
