Avro Lancaster

The mighty Avro Lancaster not only became the backbone of Britain's Royal Air Force Bomber Command during World War Two, but it was also the aircraft of choice for many of the most audacious air attacks of all time.

Its development enabled it to deliver bombs that were unimaginable at the beginning of the war and these, together with the courage of its crews, ensured the bomber’s unique status in the history of the Royal Air Force.
