Part Two describes the expansion of the Regiment and its service in every theater of the war: Great Britain, NW Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, Italy, Madagascar, and the Far East. Its units included not only infantry battalions, but also antitank artillery regiments and a parachute battalion.
It ends where Volume VI picks up the story of the Regiment in 1945
About The Author-
Lieutenant-General Jonathon Riley served in the Army for 40 years. He commanded troops at every level from a platoon to a corps on operations in Northern Ireland, Belize, former Jugoslavia, Sierra Leone, the Middle East, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was Master of the Royal Armouries from 2009 – 2012 and the last Colonel of The Royal Welch Fusiliers. He holds three degrees including a PhD and has currently published 22 books. He is Visiting Professor in War Studies at King’s College London.
