The morning session of the conference had seen papers given by new researchers, all of which are included in the proceedings.

This papers given at the conference have been presented here as a collection of essays on various matters to do with the study of military history during the Victorian era.

Dr Christopher Brice is the author of The Thinking Man’s Soldier and Brave As A Lion. He is at present working on three further books, all dealing with matters related to the Victorian British Army.
