Dr Jonathan S. Swift

This book was borne out of a happy combination of three mutually-supportive areas of interest to the author. Firstly, Jonathan has lived and worked in Latin America for many years, and this first hand experience of the region, has been combined with an academic analysis at both undergraduate and Masters level, which was also underpinned by a PhD in Applied Linguistics. The second strand is a consequence of his very real interest in the geo-politics of the region, especially South America. Finally, ever since he can remember, Jonathan has been an avid student of military history.
